FEAR AND LOSS
Fear is the muddy anticipation of loss. Yet, something profound happens when we come to terms with and accept that loss is an inherent part of our journey. We begin to understand the value of ourselves, our life, and our time. When we understand that we can control nothing but our choices, our outlook is unburdened, and we remain standing. Fear loses its power over our spirit, and courage glows brightly because there are no longer any unknowns left for us to fear.

Yet, you proved me wrong in my understanding because you stopped loving me, but I chose to grieve your departure with love, not hate. I misunderstood what love was and subsequently grief as well.

There are amazing sunsets, and then there are extra amazing sunsets. This one took my breath away. I was worried I would never be able to capture its beauty, and while this photo is far less spectacular than what I witnessed, it serves as a reminder of how I felt when I saw it.
